Solar Inventory Manager
List your stock and get its total value and a reorder list, as a PDF.
Running out of connectors on the morning of an install costs half a day. So does buying 300 you didn’t need. A minimum level for each item and a regular count is the oldest fix, and it still works.
This tool is for installers, small warehouses and DIY builders. Enter each item with what you hold, the minimum you want on the shelf and what it costs. You get the total value of your stock and a list of what to reorder, with quantities and an estimated cost. The PDF is a snapshot you can print or send to a supplier. Nothing is uploaded, and there’s no account.

This tool reports on the stock numbers you type in. It is a snapshot, not live tracking, and it places no orders. Data as of October 2026.
How this tool works
How the reorder list works
An item goes on the list when the quantity in stock is below its minimum. The order quantity brings it up to the Order up to figure if you gave one that’s above the minimum, or to the minimum if you didn’t. Stock value is quantity times unit cost, added up across items and by category. Items with no unit cost add nothing, and the tool tells you how many. Take 3 inverters in stock, a minimum of 4 and an order-up-to of 8, at $1,100 each. The order is 5 inverters, which comes to $5,500.
Tip: set Order up to well above the minimum for cheap, fast-moving parts like clamps and connectors, so you aren’t ordering every week. For a big, slow item such as a battery, order up to the minimum plus the needs of one job.
The Solar Bill of Materials Generator lists what a job needs, which helps when you set the minimums.
What it doesn’t do
- It isn’t live tracking. It’s a snapshot of the numbers you type. Update the counts after a stock take or a big job.
- It has no barcodes or supplier orders. The PDF is a list you can send or print.
- It doesn’t split stock by location. The Where column is a note, and each item has one quantity.
Where the numbers come from
- This tool uses no outside data. Every item, quantity and cost in the report is what you type in. The example behind the Fill in an example button is made up.
Questions
Is this live inventory tracking?
No. It’s a snapshot of the numbers you type in. Update the counts after a stock take, and the report shows the new state.
How do I choose a minimum?
Think about how long a resupply takes and how much you use in that time. If a connector order takes a week and you use 60 a week, a minimum of 100 gives you a cushion.
What does Order up to mean?
The level you want to be back at after you order. Leave it empty and the order only brings the item up to its minimum.
Where is my stock list stored?
In your browser’s storage, on this device. Nothing is uploaded. If you clear your browser data or switch devices, the list is gone. The Clear all entries button wipes it too.
Can I track more than one warehouse?
Not separately. Each item has one quantity and a Where note, and the tool keeps one list per browser. Download a PDF for one warehouse before you start on the next.
Why does an item have no value in the report?
It has no unit cost. Add a cost and it joins the total.
