Who we are
SolarYP (solaryp.com) is an online directory of solar installation, repair, cleaning, battery and inverter companies in the United States. This policy explains what information we collect when you use the site and what we do with it.
Information we collect
- Quote requests. If you ask for a quote, we collect your name, phone number, email address, ZIP code and state, the service you want, details such as property type, whether you own the property and your monthly electric bill range, and any notes you add. We also save the consent text you agreed to, the date and time, and your IP address.
- Business accounts and listings. If you list a business, we collect your name, email address, password (stored in hashed form), business details, logo and the information needed to issue invoices.
- Messages. If you contact us, we keep your name, email address and message.
- Usage data. Like most websites, our servers and our advertising and analytics partners may collect technical data such as your IP address, browser type, pages visited and the time of the visit, using cookies and similar technologies.
How we use information
- To run the directory and show company listings.
- To send your quote request to solar companies that match it.
- To review listings, manage accounts and send invoices.
- To answer your messages and keep the site secure and free of spam.
- To understand how the site is used and to improve it.
- To show advertising.
Sharing quote requests with companies
When you submit a quote request, we share it, including your contact details, with one or more solar companies that match the service and location you chose. They may contact you by phone, text or email about your request. Companies may pay us for access to quote requests. We do not share your request with anyone else for their own marketing.
Advertising and cookies
We may show advertising from third parties such as Google. These partners may use cookies to show ads based on your visits to this and other websites. You can manage personalized advertising in Google’s ad settings at adssettings.google.com or at aboutads.info. You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings, but parts of the site may then not work as expected.
How long we keep information
We keep information only as long as we need it for the purposes above or as the law requires. After that we delete or anonymize it.
Your choices and rights
You can ask us to show you, correct or delete the information we hold about you, or to stop sharing your request with companies. Depending on where you live, for example in California, you may have additional rights under local law. Business account holders can edit their listing in their dashboard. Security
We use reasonable measures to protect information, including secure connections and hashed passwords. No method of storing or sending information is completely secure, so we cannot promise absolute security.
Children
SolarYP is not meant for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them.

We may update this policy. The date at the top shows when it last changed.
